What is Custom Yoga?

Custom yoga is tailored to meet your personal needs or the needs of your group. During this personalized session, you will learn poses to open, strengthen, and heal your body. Custom Yoga will enhance your existing practice or help you gain an edge in your sport by improving your flexibility, strength and range of motion. Whether you simply want to develop a yoga routine to improve your personal health, or learn therapeutic poses to help heal injuries, custom yoga can be very helpful. Cost: $60 per hour (up to 4 people)
5 + people is $75 per hour

For those that want a custom yoga program, the first session will be 1.5 hours

Are you an Athlete?

Custom Yoga can significantly help athletes with training and performance because it addresses the specific biomechanics of the individual sport. For many athletes it’s common to feel pain, this is not usually caused by the sport itself but by imbalances that training causes and exacerbates. If you bring your body back into balance through the practice of yoga you can enjoy less injuries, supple muscles, better range of motion, and better Oxygen intake. The asanas (postures) of yoga teach you how to coordinate your breath with subtle movement, the effect is your body, mind and breath are all integrated. These actions can help you offset the effects of one dimensional workouts and help you train your body and your mind at the same time.

Here are a few groups I have worked with. Keep in mind if your sport isn't list here I am happy to put a program together for your specific sport.

Yoga for Climbers

It’s easy to see how yoga techniques can help climbers climbing. Yoga for Climbers will teach you alignment principles that will keep your shoulders, neck and back strong and flexible, it will show you how to develop core strength, and ways to control your breathing which help focus your mind. The strength, flexibility, mental focus, and alignment that yoga develops play a key role in helping climbers progress through the grades. These techniques can easily be transferred to your specific climbing tradition and can also complement your existing training routine.

Yoga for Nordic Skiers

Many people know about the general benefits of yoga: increased flexibility, strength, and balance. Are you aware of the direct benefits of yoga for XC skiers? As an avid Nordic skier, instructor and yoga teacher I’ve experienced how yoga has improved my performance on the trails. It will help you with better balance, hips that are open, no back pain, good core strength, hamstrings and quads that aren’t stiff all the time, and an increased ability to concentrate. The style of yoga (Anusara) taught uses alignment principles that are highly transferable to XC skiing making you more stable and stronger on your skies. On top of the physical benefits yoga will also help you calm your mind increasing your ability to focus.

 

Yoga for Musicians

A custom yoga program for musicians can help the various musicians with posture, breathing, and ability to concentrate. As musicians you will get the specific attention you need for your body with regards to how you hold you instrument and how to breathe to help with pre-show jitters. This session will be delivered as a “learn at lunch” series lasting 1-1.5 hours.

Cost:
Groups under 10 are $120 per session
Groups over 10 the cost will range depending on your budget.

Yoga for Golfers

Improve your game from the inside out! Learn postures that are designed for the golfer’s needs and breathing techniques that will bring more control and power into your swing. By adding stretches that increase flexibility, core-strength and balance you will improve your range and reduce the risk of injury. Call to inquire about group classes or ask about custom yoga which can be designed for your condition in mind.

Cost:
Groups under 10 are $150 per session
Groups over 10 the cost will be $15 per person.
Private Yoga is $60 per hour.
